The Tower of Druaga: The Recovery of Babylim, renamed as The Tower of Druaga: The Phantom of Gilgamesh on October 2013, was a free play computer MMORPG operated by Willow Entertainment. The game is a spin-off based on the anime The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk, set approximately 80 years before the anime.[1] The beta test began in December 2007, and the game was released in 2008.
After Druaga's defeat on March 13, 2016,[2] peace returned to the land, and the game's service ended on April 1, 2016.
Story[]
In another time, in another world, prince Gilgamesh had defeated the demon Druaga and safely returned from the Tower of Druaga with the shrine maiden Ki. A short time after this, Gil said that there was still work to be done, and departed with Ki. Peace returned to Babylim, and the people eagerly await the two to return.
However, the collapsed Tower of Druaga suddenly resurfaced, and dark clouds once again gather in the once peaceful land. Animals became ferocious due to the runaway power of the orbs, and monsters are roaming around. The threat was not limited to the tower, it was encroaching on various areas around Babylim.
The prime minister Sargon, who was in charge during Prince Gilgamesh's absence, recruited adventurers to discover what is happening and recover Babylim, ordering them to explore the Tower of Druaga and wipe the root of the chaos in Babylim.

The maps from the game.[3]
Name | Translation | Type | Description |
---|---|---|---|
ラジャフ村 | Rajaf Village | Town | The first place you visit, a village of water and forests. In ancient times, it was a major sacred place where pilgrims gathered from all over the continent, but its mission is quietly coming to an end with the founding of the capital city of Babylim. There are many devout believers who still visit this place because there is a branch of the Temple of Ishtar. |
ラジャフ街道 | Rajaf Road | Field | Since ancient times, this road has been loved by people as a key point for trade between Rajaf and the capital city, Babylim, and also as a beautiful land blessed by the gods. However, due to the return of the tower, wild animals have become more ferocious, and the area has become extremely dangerous. |
ドルアーガの塔周辺 | The Tower of Druaga Outskirts | Town | A mountainous land from where the huge Tower of Druaga can be seen right away. It is eerily quiet, and strangely there are no monsters in sight. For this reason, this area is used as the final resting place for adventurers planning to challenge the tower. |
ドルアーガの塔 | The Tower of Druaga | Special | A tower that is said to have been suddenly rebuild by the power of the god of chaos. The tower is filled with many mysteries... What awaits on the top floor? You will want you to see it with your own eyes. |
サキュバスの窟 | The Abyss of Succubus | Special | A location near the Tower of Druaga. Contrary to the Tower of Druaga, where adventurers must climb the tower, this place goes deep underground. There is a time limit to stay inside, and if adventurers do not leave before time runs out, all loot obtained inside will be lost. The duration could be extended by using specific items found inside the Tower of Druaga. Added in 2009.[4][5] |
バビリム平原 | Babylim Plains | Field | An alluvial plain created by fertile soil brought in by the Euphrates from the Marsh Mountains in the north. Following the cultivation of land in front of the Babylim Castle Gate, this area is now attracting attention as a pioneering area, and some people from Babylim have already moved on to settle here. However, this area has not yet been developed enough to build a canal, and continues to be cleared using windmills. Furthermore, while moving away from the riverbank, trees grow naturally. While not as thick as a forest, they provide shade to protect travelers from the harsh summer heat. |
バビリム城門 | Babylim Castle Gate | Field | A rich countryside with canals built by the people of Babylim. The most impressive thing is the gigantic triumphal arch built outside the Ishtar Gate by the founder king of Babylim. Built hundreds of years ago, it now resembles a ruin, but travelers who visit Babylim say they are overwhelmed by its scale. It was built on the road connecting with Rajaf, but a castle wall also existed at the time of its construction. The only reminders of it now are the ruins of the collapsed castle walls that remain around it. |
バビリム西 | Babylim West | Town | The western part of Babylim is characterized by lively streets centered around port facilities that allowed for efficient shipping of the Euphrates. However, as it was a gateway to the neighboring countries, it suffered great damage during the Sumer War, and although its large-scale facilities have not yet been repaired, it is gradually regaining its vitality with the restoration of its port facilities. |
バビリム東 | Babylim East | Town | The name "Babylim", which flourishes as the largest metropolis on the continent, comes from the old word "Gate of God". Home to a large temple dedicated to the goddess Ishtar and a gigantic ziggurat, this city boasts a majesty worthy of its name, and can be described as a metropolis that attracts various people and goods from all over the continent. The eastern area is formed around the Euphrates's port facilities and serves as a gateway to neighboring countries. In addition, the Ishtar Gate, which is decorated in blue with lapis lazuli, is a building that is considered one of the symbols of Babylim, and although it was destroyed during the Sumer War, it has only recently been reconstructed. Added on June 2008.[6] |
エルブルズの岩穴 | Cave of Elburz | Dungeon | Ruins near Babylim. Although the interior is not very complex, the center is said to test the abilities of those who visit. For this reason, the Adventurer's Guild often asks seasoned young adventurers to undergo some battle trials here, and those who pass through this will be recognized by the guild as adventurers. |
黒のオベリスク | Black Obelisk | Field | The "Black Obelisk" from which the area is named is a stone monument made of obsidian that is engraved with a tribute to Ishtar, who won the mythical Druaga War. It is unknown who built it, but it is said to have been built on this site since the distant mythical era. |
迷いの森 | Lost Woods | Field | A huge forest spreading behind Rajaf. It is said to be a forest that surrounds a sanctuary created by Ishtar to protect humanity during the mythical era, and the deepest part is still strongly protected by ape-men called Humbaba. Anyone who attempts to set foot into the sanctuary should be prepared to be punished by the Humbaba. The first map added after the game's launch, added on the April 2008 update alongside the 10th floor of the Tower of Druaga.[7] |
迷いの森(聖域) | Lost Woods (Sanctuary) | Field | A silent forest where the barrier once created by the goddess Ishtar still remains. A complete change from the Lost Woods, it is an impressive bright space with a sparkling water surface and light shining in. There is a small lake in the center, and in its center is a statue of Ishtar. Druaga's magic power is limited in this area, and only a few wild animals lived here, but it seems that monsters have been spawning in response to the tower's revival, changing it into an extremely dangerous area. Added on May 2008.[8] |
運命の樹 | Fate Tree | Dungeon | The Fate Tree is said to be one of the world trees that exists in each world (Heaven, Earth, and Underworld), and has been protected deep within the temple of Ishtar since mythical times. For a long time, entry was prohibited as a forbidden place, but the temple of Ishtar sensed that this was also the cause of the tower's resurface, and opened it up for adventurers to investigate. Added on May 2008.[8] |
ユーフレイト東岸 | Euphrates East Coast | Field | The opposite coast of Babylim has less vegetation than the west coast, making it a drier, sparse steppe area. This is due to the influence of the wind blowing down from the dry highlands in the direction of Narak, creating a landscape that contrasts with the greenery on the opposite shore created by the humid wind from the direction of the Lost Woods and Lake Sippar. However, this area adjacent to the Euphrates is still dotted with plants and trees, and combined with the scattered giant rocks, it has a distinctive landscape. As you move further north from here, the climate changes to that of an arid region. Added on June 2008.[6] |
神々の古戦場 | Ancient Battlefield of the Gods | Field | A vast wasteland said to be where battles were fought between the gods of order, such as Ishtar, and the gods of chaos, such as Druaga, in the distant mythological era. There are ruins everywhere that serve as a reminder of the intensity of the battle, and some of the ruins around are believed to be giant weapons used by the gods or orb amplification devices. Monsters now live in those ruins, posing a threat to travelers heading towards Narak. The vegetation is dry, with sparse grass, partly due to the distance from the Euphrates. Added on June 2008.[6] |
ナラク採掘場 | Narak Mine | Field | A large-scale open pit mine created by the people of Narak to extract mineral resources. Originally, it was extremely difficult to mine the rocks in this area with human technology due to their high hardness, but in recent years, it has finally become possible to develop mines thanks to the technology provided by the god Girru. For this reason, open pit deposits have developed in Narak, where minerals are extracted from the earth's crust by digging in a spiral pattern. Even now that mining development is just beginning, this large-scale mining site remains the mainstay, and there is a constant flow of miners coming and going from here to the Narak Village. Added on June 2008.[6] |
ナラク | Narak | Town | Narak is an area where nomads live in tents. The residents of Narak are people who abandoned their faith in Ishitar when Babylim was destroyed by the battle of the gods, and instead worship Girru, who descended nearby. For this reason, they are treated as heretics by the people of Babylim, and they have almost no contact with the outside world. However, the metalworking techniques they acquired through the "flame orb" given to them by Girru are prized on the continent, and Narak's metal weapons are extremely valuable. The Narak region is basically a wasteland and is not blessed with agricultural crops. They make a living by processing and selling raw stone orbs mined from the nearby ancient city of Eshnu. The people of Narak always believe in equality, and decisions are made through consultation. Added on July 2008.[9] |
審判の荒野 | Judgment Wastelands | Field | The area in the hinterland of Narak is called the Judgment Wastelands because it is connected to the area where the god Girru descended. The roughly carved plateau is a gateway to an area that is sacred for the people of Narak, so only a few are allowed to access it. After passing through the steep cliff, the entrance to the Labyrinth will be waiting for adventurers. If you have the courage to take risks, no one will stop you from visiting it. Added on July 2008.[9] |
ラビリンス ラビリンス(B2) |
Labyrinth Labyrinth (B2) |
Dungeon | When Girru descended, this labyrinth was created to prevent humans from unnecessarily approaching his temple. It is said that if you are an adventurer who is skilled enough to escape from here, you may be recognized by Girru and receive new powers. Infested with Girru's followers, it is one of the most dangerous places in Babylim, and it is also said that it is crowded with the dead, as many adventurers have challenged it in the past and been defeated. Added on July 2008.[9] |
空中神殿 | Sky Shrine | Town | The sanctuary where the god Girru resides. It is a shrine built on a floating island that only appears to the heroes who have crossed the Labyrinth, and the white building floating in the sky is dominated by an air of purity. If the adventurers who have reached this land want to aim higher, Girru will give them a trial. Added on August 2008.[10] |
ウルク街道 | Uruk Road | Field | It was once the main artery of commerce connecting the two major cities of Babylim and Uruk, and the stone pavement and rows of poplar trees on both sides of the road were a symbol of the peaceful Babylim. Merchant caravans crisscrossed the cobblestone road, and it is said that in the past it boasted a considerable amount of traffic. During the Sumer invasion, it became the main route for the Babylim invasion, and traces of the war can still be seen everywhere today. Added on August 2008.[10] |
ラルサ大地溝帯 | Larsa Great Rift Valley | Field | Commonly known as the "Burning Cliff" (炎の崖), it is a huge fissure in the earth that stretches from the Marsh Mountains all the way to the Babylim Sea. It is said to have been created during the mythical era when Ishtar struck Druaga with a powerful blow. Magma emerges from the deep valley floor, and the entire valley is enveloped in steam. It also functions as the border between Sumer and Babylim, and before the war they were connected by a large suspension bridge, and there was a border observation post on both sides, but nowadays they are awaiting restoration, as they were devastated during the early battles to defend Babylim. Also, before the war, it was considered one of the most coveted places for adventurers looking to get rich quickly, as it had a mine nearby that produced high-quality orbs. Added on August 2008.[10] |
反射池の沼地 | Reflecting Pond Swamp | Field | This reflecting pond swamp is a basin into which many high-quality mineral springs were created as a result of Larsa's lava flowing into it and melting minerals and orbs. As the geology is made up of a variety of minerals, a major feature of the hot springs is that their interior is colored in vivid colors such as blue, green, and orange, forming a fantastic landscape that overwhelms the viewers. Before the Sumer War, it was a popular resting place for trade routes and a hot spring resort for the citizens of Sumer, but now it is extremely dangerous to get close to it due to being infested with large beasts. Added on August 2008.[10] |
スーマール丘陵地 | Sumer Hills | Field | To the west of the Babylim Sea, there is a plain surrounded by mountains to the east. The amount of land cultivated for wheat is extremely small, so Sumer relies on imports for many things. The land was cleared by military forces, and geometrically shaped waterways and salt pans form the landscape of the Sumer Hills. Due to strong sea breezes and strong salt damage, the area is a barren land where few plants can grow, but in recent years, grasslands have been gradually increasing due to the installation of windbreak forests, and land improvements continue on a daily basis. Added on October 2008.[11] |
オーブの鉱脈 | Orb Vein | Dungeon | A mineral vein accessed from a cave in the Reflecting Pond Swamp. An extremely hazardous place due to the overflowing lava and sulfur vapors, but also a fantastic place due to the very beautiful bedrock studded with large amounts of raw orb ores. For this reason, it is a perfect camping spot for adventurers, but it is also a very dangerous, as there are many monsters roaming around that have become stronger due to the influence of the orbs. Added on December 2008.[12] |
シッパル湖 | Lake Sippar | Field | One of the Euphrates's northern water sources. This lake was formed as a result of the snow melting during spring flowing down from the Marsh Mountains, and boasts a very large area. There are no other water sources north of this point other than molten snow, and the river turns into a wad during seasons other than spring and summer. However, recently, the amount of water has increased considerably as the wadi is constantly turning into rivers. Although thick fog often forms in the coniferous forest due to the high humidity, the spectacular view of Sippar on a clear day is almost mystical. Added on February 2009.[13] |
嵐の渓谷 | Ravine Storm | Field | A river terrace area formed by the melting snow flowing into Lake Sippar. Flat areas and steep cliffs alternate, creating an unique landscape. The lowest part of the valley is a wadi, and when the snow melts in the spring, it becomes a torrent and flows into Lake Sippar. As a result, the flat valleys are home to drought-resistant plants and creatures, while the mountains are home to alpine plants and creatures adapted to the mountain climate, creating an unique ecosystem. Since the advent of Ramman, the surroundings of this area have experienced frequent rainfall outside of the rainy season, and the wadi has recently become a river. In addition, the giants who lived in the depths of the valley before Ramman's arrival can be seen around, and they often engage in battle with Ramman's forces. |
ラマン駐屯地 | Ramman Garrison | Field | Located further upstream of the Ravine Storm. Ramman, the god of thunder, does not like having a specific temple, and always sets up camp with his troops. Since the sudden advent of Ramman, battles have frequently occurred between the giants who have been chased from their homes. Although there is currently a cease-fire situation and no large-scale battles are occurring, there is a constant standoff between Ramman's army and the giants, and it is extremely dangerous to get caught up in it, so be careful. Added on October 2009.[14] |
キシュア | Kishur | Field and town | A hidden village located deep in the Lost Woods and close to the Fate Tree. With the Ravine Storm to the east and the Ramman Temple on the mountain to the north, it is a land loved by nature and the gods, with its appearance changing drastically from place to place. The village of Kishur is where the people who worship the god Ramman live, and around it is a field where various monsters roam. Added on July 2010.[1][15] |
エデール峠 | Edel Pass | Field and town | A mountain pass connecting the Ancient Battlefield of the Gods and the Judgment Wastelands. There is an unusual building to the south of the pass. Added on October 2010.[16] |
闇神の地下道 | Dark God's Underpass | Dungeon | The Dark God's Underpass is an underground passage built by the dark god Anshar as a base for the invasion of Babylim. The interior of the underground tunnel is a strange space with a mixture of passages and natural caves, similar to the interior of the Tower of Druaga, which suddenly resurfaced after the journey of the Babylim Prince Gil and Goddess Ishtar's shrine maiden Ki. Also, as the underground passages are built using the veins of the underworld, powerful underworld forces are always swirling around them. Monsters such as Knights and Magicians created by Anshar's power roam in various areas of the underground passageway, defeating adventurers who wander in to strengthen the power of darkness hidden within them. Thus, they are far more powerful than those wandering around inside the Tower of Druaga, so caution is adviced. Mysterious stone tablets and stone pillars stand in four locations on the area, and by touching them, it is possible to travel back and forth between four places in the Elish continent: Sumer Hills, Orb Vein, Larsa Rift Valley, and Labyrinth (B2). Added on August 2011.[17] |
オフランディヴィーヌ闘戯会 | Special | A large-scale fighting competition held in a far away arena that is accessed by taking a ship on Babylim. 90 players divided into 3 teams fight against each other. Added on December 2011.[18] | |
死の砂漠 | Desert of Death | Field | The vast Desert of Death that stretches far south of Rajaf is surrounded by mysterious forces, making it impossible to confirm your location on a map. As a result, it is a scorching labyrinth where even seasoned adventurers can be put in immediate danger if they proceed in the wrong direction. Added on July 2012.[19] |
メスラム比良坂 | Meslam Underworld | Dungeon | The entrance of the underworld, accessed from a stone gate in the Desert of Death. There are many caves in a row, and the deeper you go, the deeper you descend. It is full of monsters and items unique to the hellish land, making it a place where even seasoned adventurers can't let their guard down. Added on December 2012.[20] |
ギエナの原 | Geenna Plain | Dungeon | A field that spreads beyond the Meslam Underworld. Surrounded by seven gates and covered in poisonous swamps, various challenges stand on the way of adventurers that plan to face this field of death. Added on June 2013.[21] |
ニアバーナ | Nirvana | Dungeon | A place on the opposite shore of the lake across the Geenna Plain. In contrast to the Geenna Plain, where those who committed admonishing sins reside after their death, Nirvana is said to be where those who did good deeds during their lifetime and attained enlightenment after their death reside. In the depths of Nirvana, there is a hall called the Hall of Ascension, and it is rumored that an entity related to the disaster that once struck Babylim is enshrined there, but the truth about this is uncertain. Added on September 2013.[22][23] |
幻の塔 | Phantom Tower | Special | In the Phantom Tower, the thoughts of various people materialize as floors. In this area, players can use their memories to create custom tower floors for other players to challenge. It is accessed from the Everlasting Spring Garden (常春の庭), which can be accessed from most towns. Added on February 2014.[24][25] |
